Guidelines for Authors

The Journal of Extension Education & Applied Sciences (JEEAS) is a peer-reviewed international journal and an official publication of the Institute of Agriculture Environment Forestry (IAEF), Lucknow, UP. The journal publishes original research in agriculture and allied sciences, promoting advancements in agriculture, social science, and applied sciences for development.

Scope and Article Types

JEEAS welcomes submissions from both members and non-members (non-members must become annual life members upon submission). The journal publishes:

  1. Strategy/Policy Papers (By invitation only)
  2. Review Papers
  3. Research Papers (Full and Short-length)
  4. Short Communications
  5. First Reports

Subjects Covered

The journal accepts submissions in:

  • Plant Improvement: Genetics, Plant Breeding, Physiology, Biotechnology, etc.
  • Horticulture: Fruit and vegetable science, medicinal plants, etc.
  • Plant Protection: Entomology, Virology, Plant Pathology, etc.
  • Soil, Water, and Environmental Sciences: Agronomy, Meteorology, Forestry, etc.
  • Agricultural Engineering: Farm machinery, Food Processing, etc.
  • Social Sciences: Economics, Statistics, Rural Development, etc.
  • Extension Education: Communication models, Journalism, etc.
  • Veterinary and Fisheries Sciences
  • Engineering and Technology: AI, Computer Science, etc.
  • Life Sciences: Medical Sciences, Food Science, etc.

Submission Instructions

  • Language: Manuscripts must be in English.
  • Formatting: Double-spaced, A4 size, 1.5-inch margins. Use SI units for all numerical data.
  • Sections: Title, Authors, Abstract (200–300 words), Keywords (5-6), Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results & Discussion, Acknowledgments, References.
  • References: Follow an alphabetical format (e.g., Verma et al., 2020).

Article Types

  1. Strategy Paper: Exclusive opinion articles by invitation.
  2. Review Paper: Maximum 16 double-spaced pages with critical analysis and future research gaps.
  3. Research Paper: Up to 12 pages, including tables and figures.
  4. Short Communication: Brief reports within five pages.
  5. First Report: Reports of first-time occurrences (2–3 pages).

General Instructions

  • Illustrations, figures, and tables should be numbered and referenced in the text.
  • Italicize scientific names and vernacular terms.
  • Manuscripts must be original and unpublished elsewhere.
  • Revised manuscripts should be submitted as MS Word files.
  • Authors must provide a signed copyright transfer form (available on the IAEF website).

Checklist for Submission

  1. Manuscript in MS Word format.
  2. Names and contact details of potential reviewers.
  3. Signed copyright transfer statement.
  4. Membership information (if applicable).

Rejection Criteria

The journal maintains high standards, and common reasons for rejection include:

  • Inadequate statistical analysis.
  • Poor experimental design.
  • Lack of relevance to the journal’s scope.
  • Delay in revisions.
